Stonz Booties

Any West Coast mama will know that rainy days can and will appear at any moment, no matter the season, so it is always best to be prepared. That is why two west coast mamas in particular decided to take being prepared to the "next level" and created the ultimate all weather "bootie". These booties are even MADE in Vancouver, BC. (YAY! GO Vancouver!)

Stonz booties are made with a both water and wind-resistant nylon coated upper, with a cozy fleece lining that is guaranteed to keep your baby or toddler's feet snug and warm. I also love the extra wide openings, that can fit right over barefeet, shoes or slippers and can be tightened with the adjustable toggles that are located on the calf and ankle of the bootie for just the right fit. The sole of the boot, is flexible and skid-resistant, so you don't have to worry about your little one running across wet pavement and slipping and sliding all over the place. One of the best parts, is how the whole boot is light weight and can be easily rolled up and stuffed into a diaper bag or purse...which if you have ever packed around gross muddy boots before, you will know that packin' these babies around would be much easier. Plus, once you get them home you can just throw them in wash. Love it.

Stonz come in four generous sizes (small 0-9 months, medium 6-18 months, large 1- 2.5 years and x-Large 2-3 years), in a variety of different fun colours and appliques so you can get a pair for each one of your children. Since, these boots are made to last, you can shop guilt free knowing that you can easily pass these down from child to child and never compromise the quality, or the look even year after year. I personally, have seen a pair of Stonz booties passed down through three children and they still look pretty much brand new. Now that is what I like to see! Quality kids items that are durable AND machine washable. I love hand-me-downs, especially when they don't LOOK like hand-me-downs. I am sure once my babes outgrow their Stonz, we will be passing them on to my siblings' future children... *hint hint*.

The hardest part, is choosing which pair to get, as they are alllll sooooo cute! I love how they even have Linerz available to purchase separately, made of super soft and fluffy sherpa fleece that you can wear inside the Stonz bootie, for cold weather. The bootie Linerz, like the Stonz come in sizes 0-3 years old... however, have no fear if you have an older child because, Stonz now features rainboot "linerz" to fit your kid's gumboots!!! Awesome! Again, here I am wishing that I could have these cool things! Where were these sorts of things when I was little.

As a babywearer, I love how I never have to worry about my kids losing their booties while they are on my back. The toggles insure that their footwear is not going anywhere, which is a bonus because man oh man can kids shoes cost a lot! Your child's feet stay toasty warm, and look super cute sticking out the sides of your carrier. Ooooh an excuse to get a few more pairs of Stonz... because you know, you have to match your carriers... right? We were sent the  Canada Red booties, and they could not have arrived on a more perfect Autumn day, I just had to take a photo right away! Gotta love those bright red leaves! How more patriotic can you get with these awesome "Canada Red" booties, or "Oh Canada" boots, as my cupcake would say!?? Thanks so much, Stonz Team!!

We received a size medium to test, which fits my nearly two year old girl perfectly... I plan to have my youngest wear them in a little while, too (it's not like she will be moving around any time soon, so they will be perfect for keeping her feet cozy while we are outside babywearing). My cupcake has small feet for her age I think, so if you are planning on getting any for your children, I would follow the guideline and you will be safe in terms of fit. I recently purchased a second pair in a large, too so Cupcake girl can wear them over her shoes this Winter. She tried them out this year at the pumpkin patch and looked super cute! People couldn't believe how fashionable AND how waterproof they were!! They feel almost too pretty to get dirty.

Her feet were warm, and dry the entire time! Even whilst chasing her big brother through the mud and squished pumpkins. We are big Stonz supporters over here!! I love how the sizes are generous enough that they fit a variety of ages and stages, and there is no need to purchase multiple shoes every few months. Not only are you saving money, but you are helping do your part to save our planet. For real, think of all of the shoes that are thrown into landfills every year. By purchasing shoes that will fit a variety of stages, and seasons you are reducing waste. Never thought of it like that before, did you?! Well, you may have... but I never really looked at it in that way. Purchasing lasting durable, quality items is never a bad idea, especially once you have messy, destructive children. Read more about how Stonz is working hard to reduce their carbon footprint on this planet. It always feels so good to support a company that believes and invests in our children's futures. Not only does The Stonz team have your babe's feet covered, but their head and hands, can stay warm now too!  They really have thought of everything... well... maybe snow suits next?? haha.

There are even options so that you can match your child's cold weather accessories. What a great idea, hey? Left to right, is the Polka Dot Navy - Pointed Hatz (0-5yrs), the Youth Mittz (2-4yrs and 4-8yrs), Booties, Infant Mittz (0-12 months and 12-24) and the Reversable Hatz (0-5yrs).  Which patterns do you like the best?? I am thinking we need to get the Canada mittz to match our little booties AND a pair of the sherpa fleece Linerz. I will be putting those on our Christmas Wishlists, that's for sure. Oh Winter we will be ready for you!! What better way to keep out that bitter West Coast chill than with a Stonz patriotic ensemble. Oh Canada, indeed!!

However, even if the snow never comes, Stonz booties will be great all year round... whether out on the playground, at the beach, on the ski hill, or safe on your mama's back. Stonz has your little one covered, and mama prepared for anything.

Vapur The Anti-Bottle

$

Tired of driving around with a zillion empty water bottles at your feet? Always forgetting to bring your reusable bottle back into the house with you at the end of the day? Lugging around a heavy, empty metal water bottle in your purse, backpack, or diaper bag? If you said yes, you are going to love what I have up next... introducing... Vapur, The Anti-Bottle!

This perfect little bottle is not only handy... but super durable, freezeable, dishwasher friendly, AND BPA-free. Hooray!! Totally what we have been looking for. I don't know about you, but my kids are allllllways guzzling water, which isn't a bad thing, but it just means that we need water on hand.at.all.times. Juggling water bottles, and three kids often means that we end up forgetting the water bottles, which always ends in screaming children. These water bottles allow me to simply fill with water, throw into, or clip to my bag, and then when empty, just roll The Anti-Bottle back up... and that's it! They take up NO space at all, and are lighter than any other product on the market.

My kids looooooved the stickers that came with their Vapur. At first, I was thinking, ohhh great, stickers, they will just fall off... however, these stickers are more like a vinyl material, so quite durable, and water resistant. My kids loved decorating their "monsters", and were so pleased with how cool they turned out. I let them open them at my dad's house, as we were there for dinner, and even he was impressed at how cool they were (the bottles, not the kids... although they are pretty cool, too haha).

They are the perfect size for my little monsters, and they love that they have their very own special bottles not for Mommy and Daddy. I usually fill with water and throw into my son's preschool snack bag, too and he has no issues with opening and closing the cap on his own. I love that there is even a spot on the back for you to write their name in permanent marker. Can't have anyone running off with our Anti-Bottle now can we?!

The Quencher (my son's "bottle")

These kid sized bottles are called the Vapur Quencher, and come in four super cool colours and designs. Each bottle holds 14 fluid oz (.4L), and comes with three awesome sticker sheets so your child can personalize their bottle with a crazy monster face of their own. What is really neat is that these Anti-Bottles are totally freezable, so they are perfect to freeze and throw in your child's lunch for school. What an awesome way to keep lunches cold and so lightweight that even your youngest, school aged kid can use them with ease! These Quenchers, are the perfect way to teach your child to curb the use of plastic, and to reuse, reuse, reuse!! I sense an environmental lesson coming up for them, too! Oh, gotta love life's teachable moments.

Choose from a ton of different designs for every water guzzler in your family. Or perhaps help Santa Claus out this year and pick up a few of these LET IT SNOW Vapurs. Roll up and simply toss into your Christmas stockings this holiday season! So much bang for your buck.

These regular sized bottles hold 18oz (.5L), and are perfect for your on-the-go lifestyle. I like how they will stand up when filled with water, but are easily collapsed when empty. Chuck a few into your gym bag (heck, I wish I had time for the gym right now), and go! I like that you can clip these onto the outside of your bag, or onto your stroller even... no more water bottles rolling around in the bottom of your bag. Thank you!

If you are more of a rugged, sporty (or very thirsty) person, you might be more interested in Vapur's Element, which is not only bigger (.7L and 1L) but, features a more heavy duty "super cap".

I would have loved to take a water container like this when I went on my big four day hike a few years ago! How easy would this be to just stick onto your pack? Instead, back then, I just had this giant plastic water bottle fastened onto the outside of my hiking backpack weighing me down, and swinging back and forth with every step. I would have loved to cram a few empty Anti-Bottles into my pack, and hand them out to fellow hikers. The Vapur anti-bottle is reminiscent of the old canvas canteens from the past, with a new modern twist!

One of the best parts about the Vapur Anti-Bottle, is that it is totally affordable ... most are even under $10!! How many products are under $10 these days?? Not very many that's for sure. Shop VAPUR online, and  make sure to check their SALE page, for even better deals, like this little sweater cover for your bottle... only $4.99!! SUPER CUTE, and will prevent condensation from dripping all over your stuff, which may or may not have happened onto my iphone. Whoops. Note to self... get one of these sweater covers next time.

What an awesome way to be eco-friendly, and save money at the same time.

"Every year, 200 billion bottles of water are consumed globally. Unfortunately, only about 12% off these will be recycled, leaving 176 billion plastic bottles to be dumped in landfills or left to float in the ocean." - Taken from Vapur's website.

Purchasing a Vapur anti-bottle and reusing it over and over again, will help you do your little part. Why waste thousands of dollars a year buying expensive bottled water, when we have access to clean drinking water right from our taps?? We are so lucky to live where we do. I love how more places these days even have water bottle filling stations, or drinking fountains available for you to refill your own water. I have even been to a few concerts and fairs that do not even sell plastic bottles anymore, and instead encourage you to bring your own empty refillable container. How cool is that?? Baby steps, but I think and hope that we will be seeing more of these sorts of things happening in the future.

A portion of all Vapur's sales go to their own cause "Drops of Hope", which raises money for environmental water related causes. If you would like to read more about The Anti-Bottle Project, click on the link, email: antibottle@randomkid.org, or check out the Random Kid website.

Like I have said before, I love supporting companies that are thinking of the bigger picture here on our planet. We only have one, so let's do our part to keep it GREEN.

Follow Vapur on FACEBOOK and TWITTER and see what Vapur is up to, and how you can do your part.

Thank you SO much Vapur, for introducing me to the future of WATER containers!!!
Shhhhh, don't tell my kids that I am using one of their bottles as I am writing this.

Wee Woollies

Introducing Wee Woollies, a beautiful collection of pure merino essentials for the little ones in your life, and the very first Canadian designer and manufacturer of kids merino out there! Wee Woollies was dreamt up after a family vacation to New Zealand, upon returning home to Victoria, BC, they decided to bring some big woolie ideas with them.

Merino Pajamas

What's so great about merino wool?

Merino Wool is: hypoallergenic, breathable, naturally flame-resistant, temperature regulating, odour reducing, and best of all, the very softest, finest, 100% natural fibre your baby will ever wear.

That in itself is enough to sell me on  Wee Woollies!!
Both of my girls have extremely sensitive skin, and clothes can really irritate them. I like that Wee Woollies only uses the cleanest, purest, wool that has been processed without the use of harsh chemicals, chlorines, or even dyes. You are guaranteed to get a quality product every time. I like knowing exactly what I am putting on my children.

I love the bright colour choices and so do my kids.

From left to right choose from: Goodnight, Budgie Blue, Apple and Tangelo.

I love the attention to detail on the entire Wee Woollies collection with the contrasting colours, totally eye catching and unique. I only wish that I had a pair of these. How come adults never get fun clothes??? Seriously. Currently you can get these awesome pajamas between the sizes of 6months and 3years old however, there is a note at the bottom of the page saying that there are bigger sizes coming up. A girl can hope that means adult, right?? *fingers crossed*
Which colour combination would you choose??

The Wee Woollies collection also offers super cute beanies, singlets, long and short sleeved onesies to suit your babe's every need.

The oneises and singlets make the perfect layering piece, under regular clothes, jammies, sleep sacks, or on their own with a cute pair of baby legwarmers or something. I just can't help but love the look of a baby in a onesie and baby leg warmers. Because merino wool is so breathable, you don't have to worry about your little one overheating using these as a base layer. Grab a few of these essentials in a few different colours and be set for every season.

Even though we received a bigger size (3-6 months), my littlest was feeling a bit sniffly the other day and had a bit of a rash, so I looked through her drawers to locate her long sleeved onesie in Tangelo. I hoped that it would be JUST the perfect thing to wear to keep her cozy, and hopefully help keep her rash under control. I put her in it, popped her in the sling and she was out right away. I don't know if that was due to her new onesie, or being close to mama, but we can go with a combination of both haha!
Thank you Wee Woollies!!

My cupcake girl (almost two year old), is the sweatiest little heater I have ever met, well besides my husband *TMI* haha I am thinking that I need to invest in a few pieces for her to sleep in (and maybe him, too haha). The merino feels so silky and cozy, without being thick and "wool-like". When I used to think of wool, the first thing that would come to mind is that itchy, scratchy stuff that grandmothers use to knit crazy sweaters. The merino wool that Wee Woollies uses is the complete opposite. I have never felt a more luscious thin, smooth wool in my life. Mmmm. I wish I could drape myself in it.

If I cannot drape myself in Wee Woollies merino, the next best thing is to make sure my baby is sleeping in style. How beautiful is this sleep sack made of a merino inner, and a 100% organic cotton outer layer? The merino makes sure that your child stays just the right temperature all through the night. Now if it could only guarantee that they would sleep through the night, too hey?? A little spendy, but worth the $$ if it feels anything like this onesie my pumpkin is wearing right now. So cozy and perfect for the baby (3months - 2+yrs) on your Christmas list.

Wee Woolies is just starting out, so make sure to help spread the woollie love and follow them on facebook  HERE.

Popo's Ponchos

From the moment I saw Popo's Poncho's stand at the Vancouver Baby & Family Fair I knew that they were something special. I had seen ponchos in the past for kids, but nothing this cute and well made!

Popo, which means grandma in Chinese, is a family based Vancouver company started in 2007 and then was passed on to the current designer/creator, Sharon in 2011.
Popo's Ponchos was looking to create a product that was not only fashionable, but functional and durable and made to last through a few seasons (and kids).
She definitely created a hit with these ponchos.
I wish I had have thought them up!
Those who know me in real life, know that I love ponchos aaaand hoodies, so this is combining two of my loves into one great little package.

However, this is not your ordinary poncho! The creator of Popo's Ponchos uses not only fleece but a fun 100% cotton for the lining of the hood, the outer pocket and the trim, which makes their ponchos stand out among the rest. Keeping warm never looked this adorable!!

Browse the collections yourself here.
Popo's has ponchos available from their traditional line, reversible ponchos and rain ponchos and blankets. So many great options to choose from.

We received the Candy Apple poncho in medium (size 2-4), and, no joke, we had not even got it home yet when two of my girlfriends went and bought one for their little ones they loved ours so much.  I then posted a photo on my instagram (look for the #poposponchos hashtag) and I had other mommies wanting ponchos, too. So cool!! Man technology, hey?

The sizing is generous, so it can easily be used for at least a few seasons.
Size small: 0-2years
Size Medium: 2-4years
Size Large: 4-6years

My Cupcake looooves her poncho, and really... so does everyone who sees it. I totally think I need to carry Popo's Ponchos business cards with me wherever I go. She calls her poncho "Superman Cape", and can easily put it over her head herself herself, and then I help her with the snaps at her arms to create the "sleeves". No more struggling with shoving little arms into tight sleeves and the tantrums that ensue, bonus!! The little visor on the hood really helps the hood stay on her head, and is a cool little detail I would not have thought of myself. Like I mentioned before, the trim, inner hood and pocket boast the hip apple pattern, and add a fashionable flair to the poncho itself... crazy smile not included haha. One of the best features of the poncho is its versatility... there are a few different ways you can wear it, to keep your little one warm, depending on your need.

Your child can wear it normally.
You can throw it on over carseat straps so nothing comes between your little one and their seatbelt.
You can use it in your stroller.
You can throw it on over a baby carrier or sling.
You can unsnap it and use it as a blanket.
Easily share it between your children even if they are different ages.

Can you think of any other ideas?

If you are local to Vancouver, Popo's Ponchos will be featured at one more fair before Christmas, so make sure to go check them out
this weekend:
 Fri-Sun Nov. 30 – Dec. 2 – West Coast Christmas Show (Abbotsford)

If you are not local, you can check out the store locator, and find a shop close to you that carries these awesome ponchos.

Make sure to follow on FACEBOOK and TWITTER for all the latest and greatest updates.

BIIIIG thank you to Popo's Ponchos for creating such a great product and letting us try one out.

P.S.
Cupcake turns TWO this weekend!!! How did that happen????

Big loves,
Mel

Nui Organics

When I first saw Nui Organics, I "awwww'd" out loud. I absolutely love the vintage/old world classic style of the Nui Organic collection. I love the pointed pixie hoods, the soft merino wool, the clean lines and, well,  pretty much every single piece offered. No lie.

The organic aspect of their products make you feel good about what you are putting on your child's precious skin, whilst looking after the planet as well. Nui believes in organic farming, so you know that you are getting quality wool and cotton every time. Even the sheep graze on pesticide free land!! A company that believes in their customers, their product and their land is an amazing A++ company in my eyes.

We were lucky enough (THANK YOU!!!) to be able to try two pieces from Nui's Baby Collection.

and

Pumpkin, has short little legs so the 3-6 month pants do not fit yet, but I have been putting her in the shirt alllllll the time. I love that, although the shirt is 3-6 months, it can easily double as a dress for now paired with some leggings, and boy does she look sweet in it. I cannot wait to see how cute it looks with the little pink pants. I love buying clothes that last forever, and with Nui you are sure to get your moneys worth! Babies grow so quickly, so it is awesome when you can invest in pieces that last through at least a few growth spurts.

I love neutral colours and stripes on babies, I don't know why. Just because they are babies does not mean that they have to wear ALL pink, or ALL blue, ALL the time. When I take Pumpkin out wearing neutral colours, I love watching people's confused faces trying to figure out what gender she is. Um. Hello. Babies do not NEED to be colour coded. Nui Organics uses fabrics in white, soft grays, pinks, reds, and cozy browns, nothing ultimately screams girl or boy.

I love when companies design beautiful clothes for infants that do not scream I AM A BABY I NEED CARTOONS ALL OVER ME ALL THE TIME. (Yes, I needed to shout that). Nui uses soft colours and designs that embrace the pureness of children, without the loud prints. There is something about a baby clothed in soft fabrics that just makes you want to plant kisses all over their sweet little faces. Case in point... look at my little babe in the photo above.

Both the shirt and pants are made of the softest merino wool you have ever felt, no hint of the scratch or itch of regular wool, and thin enough to be layered. The shirt is long enough to cover baby's tummy and back, making sure to keep him or her warm and cozy all day long, and the pants are of a generous fit that have a soft elastic that will not dig in, or pinch. Both are perfect for a cozy day of cuddling with mama.

I absolutely love Nui Merino Organics essentials. Perfect alone as an outfit, or layered for warmth, they are great for every season as merino naturally wicks away moisture, keeping your baby's temperature regulated, and baby happy. Merino wool differs from synthetic materials in the fact that it is completely breathable, and has the natural ability to keep your baby dry and comfortable.

What better way for your little one to slumber peacefully, than to be clothed in a 100% organic merino wool sleeper? How sweet are the little natural shell buttons? Reminds me of my husband's henley waffles.Way too cute.

One of the best parts... Nui products are all machine washable. Need I say more?
There is nothing worse than clothing for children that cannot withstand a good old washing machine.
I can handle hang drying things... but handwashing? Oh no. This sleep deprived mama always forgets and just throws everything into the washer at once.

Baby sizes fit from 0 - 24months
Kid sizes are 3-6months to 10 years old

The pieces Nui creates are made to be passed down; not only are they made of quality fabrics, but they are absolutely beautifully and wonderfully designed. I am sad that Pumpkin is probably our last baby and will be the only one to wear her Nui outfit. :( My siblings better hurry up, or pumpkin better stay a little peanut for a long time! Seriously, I don't want her to outgrow it!! I can see these beautiful clothes folded neatly in my memory trunk after Pumpkin outgrows them, waiting for the next family member to have a baby, and then after that, maybe their children.
That is another great thing about Merino wool fibers... they can bounce back after many, many washes and still look as good as new. So machine washable AND keeps shape. Definitely a winning combination.

I had no idea that merino wool could be this functional.

Sweet Dreams and Flying Machines...

I knew I liked the name of this company, but I could not pinpoint exactly why it seemed so familiar... until the other day when I was driving in my car singing loudly and not so beautifully to James Taylor's Fire and Rain. And there it was.
Sweet Dreams & Flying Machines..
Five zillion points for having ultra cool folky lyrics as a shop name.
I was hooked before I even TRIED anything.

Alison, the creator of this unique and hip company started out with a passion for all things fashion and design, until her little man was the picture. Though she was still interested in design, her ideas and passions quickly morphed from a world of fashion, to something that would allow her to spend as much time with her little man as possible. While feeding her babe one night, she came up with an idea. What better way to incorporate two passions in one?!
With the heart of a mother, and the eye of a designer, Sweet Dreams & Flying Machines was born.

A family based, Canadian company, run by Alison, with the help of her husband and mother, Sweet Dreams & Flying Machines provides a unique and beautiful line of sleep sacs and swaddles that you will absolutely fall in love with.

Sleep sacs are the safest way to keep your little one safe, snuggly and warm all night long.
With a sleep sac you never have to worry about the blankets bunching up around your baby's face, which is something that I am always worried about with my Pumpkin, especially in a room as chilly as ours.

We were able to try a dream sac from the new line (not even on the website yet!!!! Lucky ducks!!) called Mocking Bird.
Thank you so much Alison!

Before I even had a chance to pull it out of the envelope, I was blown away with the way it was packaged.

How awesome is that!?? Wouldn't that make the coolest gift?
ART.

I carefully unrolled it and fell in loooooove. For real.
I have never felt a more awesome sleep sac.
The outside of the Dream Sacs is an amazingly soft, stretchy nylon/spandex blend that is reminiscent of Lululemon pants. The liner, is made up of a micro fleece, whereas the thinner Dream Sacs have a Bamboo Cotton Stretch Jersey Liner. Both of which are luscious.
What a novel idea to create a sleep sac for your baby out of such fabrics.
Your child moves throughout the night, why cover him/her in a fabric that is heavy and will not move with them? My little wiggle worms appreciate the movement in this sleep sac.

Cupcake, my two year old, is constantly kicking her blankets off. She is a warm baby, always has been, that sweet little sweaty bean... However, she has also never been a great sleeper because she is constantly waking up through out the night due to her blankies being kicked to the floor. She likes the comfort of a blanket, but doesn't like to be covered by one. Dream Sacs can be unzipped at the bottom so older children can walk around freely before bed time. Though I do like the look of a toddler walking around in a big sleep sac... haha they look like little glow worms. So cute. If there ever was a toddler in need of a sleep sac, it's my little big girl!!

Why not cotton?
 As outlined here:
"Under  The Hazardous Products Act (HPA) in Canada you can not advertise, sell or import children's sleepwear that do not comply with the flammability requirements . Cotton in the case of sleep sacs would not pass these flammability tests,"

Sweet Dreams & Flying Machines has come up with an awesome alternative if you ask me, and SO cozy.

I love that the Dream Sacs have two sets of snaps at the shoulders and the armpits. One sleep sac will last your baby for many, many months SAFELY, just snap (bigger or smaller) for a perfect fit. Voila!

Dream Sacs can also be used safely as a thin blanket in any five point carseat as there is a convenient little flap to pull the seat belt through. No need to worry about big, bulky, winter coats or bunting bags that aren't allowed in car seats, all you need is your Dream Sac. I also like that the flap can be closed with Velcro when not in use, too so no gaping hole!

The detail on these sleep sacs really is amazing.
Each is a piece of art.
Pumpkin's Dream Sac (3-6months size), is part of the brand new line and is called Mockingbird.
Even the tag is beautiful.
I love the sayings on each sleep sac and swaddle.
They are all so romantic and beautiful.
I actually want to collect them all just so I can read them over and over again.
Is that lame??
The artist in me begs to differ, if it is.
I wanted to try out a size that would last for awhile, so although the 3-6month size IS quite big, I make sure the snaps are done up to the smallest  setting, for the best fit. In reality I probably should have gone with a Sweet Swaddle first. She has a toonnnnnn of room to grow, which will last us all Winter and Spring which makes me happy. I will cry when she outgrows this! haha

Sweet Dreams and Flying Machines Dream Sacs come in sizes:
 3-9 months
9-30 months
And in two different warmth levels:
1.For mild weather and warmer rooms (21°-23° C/ 69°-74° F)
2. For rooms that are 16°-20° C. (60°-68° F)

Our room gets so chilly at night (arg. to the previous homeowners who ruined our giant window in the master bedroom with their air conditioner - it does not close all the way), so pumpkin stays nice and toasty in her beautiful sleep sac all night long. Which is better than I can say about myself, because I am constantly out of my blankets feeding my babies. haha.

If your babe is more like my cupcake girl as a baby, and swaddling is more up his/her alley, Sweet Dreams and Flying Machines also make amazing swaddles.
The Sweet Swaddle.
And boy are they SWEET!

Cupcake literally was swaddled until she was eight months old... seriously. She was a giant baby burrito. I thought that she would be swaddled until she was one, which she probably would have been if she did not keep breaking out.
There is something so comforting about being tightly wrapped in coziness. Takes after her blanket lovin' mama I guess.
Swaddling helps soothe infants as it settles the startle reflex that often awakens them, resulting in more sleep for both of you! No startle reflex, no blankets being kicked over the head, no worries!

What I love about these swaddles, is that they are made of that same stretchy material as the sleep sacs, but also have snap openings for arms to go through when they no longer need to be completely swaddled. Such a great transition from swaddle to sleep sac. Your babe can slowly get used to arms out, while being snuggled in a tightly fitting sac. Best of both worlds really.

I love the retro look of these, too. Reminds me of an Adidas track suit, or my fave pair of Stan Smiths.

Totally needing the white and green. <3LOVE!

Like the Dream Sacs, the Sweet Swaddles have the same awesome carseat feature, and zippered bottom for quick and easy diaper changes.

Sweet Swaddles come in sizes:
0-3 months.
3-12 months.

Emeibaby!

$

The moment I saw this carrier from Emeibaby, I knew that I wanted to see what it was all about. It just seemed so interesting to me. How could something be both a woven wrap AND a carrier!?? It seemed way too good to be true. My one pet peeve usually with a soft shelled carrier is that it does not always feel supportive enough, and is often hard to get everything fitting tightly. I wanted to see if this new carrier would change my previous conceptions.
I frantically stalked my mail carrier anticipating the arrival of my tester carrier all the way from Austria. I ran to the door every time I heard a big truck drive past and when it finally did arrive on my doorstep I  ripped into the package right away.
I tried it on right away with my little Pumpkin, and my first impression honestly was,
"Wow, this is SO cool!!"
I had had heard that it was a complicated carrier to use, and was surprised that it was anything BUT complicated. I put the waist band around me up high on my natural waist, snapped it, tightened it, held Pumpkin against my chest, pulled the little bit of woven wrap under her bum and between our bodies to get a good seat, pulled up the arm straps, tightened them, buckled the clip behind me, and tightened the fabric through the rings to get a good, tight fit... Then reached in between our bodies and made sure she had a good seat and re-tightened. Snapped up the extra fabric, and tucked under the hood.
That was it.
It was just that simple!!
If my explanation confused you, check out the video below:

Because the wrap is fastened to the waist band just in the middle portion, you can easily bunch the fabric in a bit for a smaller baby's legs, or spread it out wide to get a good wide seat for your bigger toddler. Perfect knee to knee coverage and deep seat every time.

"Thanks to its ring system it can be precisely adjusted to the baby's size from birth (6,6 lbs) and is continuously adjustable to grow with the child. Once the carrier has been adjusted to the baby's size the aluminium rings on the shoulder straps firmly clamp the fabric in place to maintain the desired position." Emeibaby
With a lot of other soft shelled carriers on the market for a smaller baby you have to use a bulky infant insert, or fiddle with snaps and such to get a perfect fit. I love that there is none of that with the Emeibaby. It is easy to use, light weight, and can be used both on your back and front.
I love that I can easily use this carrier with my 3month old, and yet quickly throw it on with my 2 year old, do a few adjustments and voila! Great fit with her as well.
I love how simple it is, and you get the fit of a woven, with the ease of a SSC (soft shelled carrier). I  have used this carrier every single day since I received it, and that is the truth. I love throwing it in the car for quick uppies with the girls in this rainy weather, wearing around the house whilst chasing after the other kids, grocery shopping, and wherever else life leads us. ;) I also really love that it has a little inner pocket for you to stash your cell phone, keys and/or some cards/money. SO handy.
This is the perfect addition to any babywear-er's stash and has the ability to last your entire babywearing career. Not many carriers, besides a trusty old woven wrap, can your kids NOT outgrow.
Pretty good investment if you ask me.
This carrier fits adults from sizes XXS -  XXL, so not only can I get a great fit, but my husband can, too! He is not quite a wrapper yet, so loves the ease of this carrier. We just went on a family adventure the other day and he wore our two year old in this carrier, and I wore the baby close to me in a woven wrap. He was able to get the carrier on, and our toddler situated with no help from me! He was able to figure it out all on his own. I had to remind him proper knee to knee positioning and that was it.
He quickly re-adjusted her seat, and we went off on our way. Both were comfortable for hours! She was up high and safe with daddy, and could see everything comfortably. (He even carried my purse, too... now that's a real man).

Let me address some of the worries/concerns I had previous to trying the Emeibaby Carrier:

Q: Are the rings difficult to adjust and do they slip while the carrier is in use?
A: NO! I was actually surprised at how EASY they are to adjust. The woven slides through the rings to tighten with ease, without slipping throughout the day. I was pleasantly  impressed with that.

Q: Was it difficult to put on straight out of the box? I heard that it is a complicated carrier to use.
A: Not at all. I wish I had taken a video of myself trying it for the first time. I really just opened the box, put it on, grabbed my baby and went with it. It was pretty easy actually. I really wish I could speak to the people that thought it was confusing and see what they had issues with. I cannot see a problem whatsoever!

Q: The shoulder straps cannot cross in the back. Will it still feel supportive after a few hours?
A: The straps are actually quite padded and supportive. I actually think that they are more padded than other SSCs I have tried. I was able to wear my Pumpkin all afternoon with no shoulder pain! That is awesome in my books. Still do wish that the shoulder straps could cross though.
Q: Isn't all that excess fabric going to look funny or be annoying after you are done tightening?
A: There are two options to tuck the excess fabric, under the hood and at the bottom of the carrier near the seat. The hood is actually way bigger than I initially thought and pretty much fully hides all excess woven material. When bunched at the bottom, it obviously is still in plain site, but for some reason does not bother me as much as I thought it would.

I hope answering those questions helped a bit. It is hard to invest in a new carrier that is not yet popular in North America. Not too many have really heard of Emeibaby yet. There have not been a TON of photos, reviews, tutorials etc. out there. I hope that this changes soon because I really do believe they have a super unique and cool product.

Choose from five awesome designs.

Boba - WRAP

There is nothing better than holding your baby against your skin for hours at a time. However, believe it or not, even a tiny baby can get heavy and let's face it, sometimes things need to get done... this is when babywearing comes in.
What better way to keep your little one close to you all day than to wrap her up ON you?!

Boba introduces a beautiful way to keep your babe close.
Stardust -http://www.distributionwallaby.ca/english/boba-wrap
There is nothing cozier, especially in those beginning weeks, than a nice, soft, stretchy wrap.  You know how you always seem to reach for your awesome, broken-in, well-loved hoodie from your high school days?? This is THAT kind of wrap. What could be more comforting for both you and your baby than snuggling up in a wrap that reminds you of that perfect hoodie?!
The perfect amount of stretch, cottony softness, and, I swear, love weaved right in.

Boba wraps come in a variety of bright, and beautiful colours, and even two prints, like the awesome one pictured above, so it is easy to find a wrap for every outfit and occassion.

I absolutely loooove the bright PINK one. SO fun.

OH.
How have I not even mentioned, that the Boba wrap is SO affordable, too!!?
Like, under $55 for the regular, affordable.
So you can totally justify purchasing a few in different colours!
Like it in green? Go for it. Like it in black, too? Hey, why not??
Why not grab a few... you know, in case baby throws up on one, oh and one to keep in the car... oh and one to keep at grandma's house... can you see why I have a stash?? hehe.
This is going to be my go-to gift for all future baby-showers.
How can you say no to an awesome $55 present that is going to last from birth to 18months?!?
Uh-oh, now that I mentioned that on the internet I am going to get baby shower invites left and right.
Good thing I love babies.

Me wearing my BFF's 4 week old.

A long wrap can be intimidating at first.
To be honest, I remember when my first was born saying to someone,
"Ummmm why would you EVER want THAT much fabric. That is just plain silly."
Yep. It's true.
Now look at me?! hahaha I'm on baby #3 and have a stash piled up in my living room of wraps and carriers that I use EVERY day.
That says something.

Once you sit down... err stand up.. and actually TRY a wrap a few times you soon realize it is not as hard as it looks.

SO easy to follow.

Check out more easy-to follow videos: http://www.bobafamily.com/boba-wrap-videos/
*Remember to try new carries with a spotter, or over a soft surface such as your bed.*

I love that Boba has included some quick tips, even for veteran babywearers, since the Boba wrap IS just a tiny bit different than other wraps on the market (tips stolen from: here)

  • Tying the wrap snug against your body when you put on the wrap will ensure that your baby is carried higher and will be more comfortable for the both of you. It shouldn’t feel bulky or loose, yet at the same time shouldn’t be so tight that it’s uncomfortable!
  •  So the biggest point is: It’s not necessary to leave extra space for your baby to fit inside as the fabric is actually intended to stretch over your baby for added support and comfort.
  • Some tips to help you get the perfect fit: The shoulder pieces that are crossed in front of your body should be clinging to you so that when you retract them they bounce back against your chest. If the fabric is hanging and not clinging, it’s not tight enough! The shoulder pieces should actually have to be pulled away from you to get your baby inside.
  • It should look like there is no way that your baby will fit in there! Another thing that you can do to ensure proper support is to ensure that you cross the wrap high on your chest. In step 5 of “Putting On Your Boba Wrap,” when you cross the two pieces of fabric to create the “x” that your supports your baby, the pieces should cross each other above your sternum (where your ribs meet). Basically the higher the “x” is, the higher your baby will be carried.

Your baby should look like this inside the wrap *and in any carrier*
    Knee to knee
    Close enough to kiss
    Knees higher than bum
    Up high, tight and secure
Babywearing when done properly is the most amazing bonding experience for both you and your little babe FROM BIRTH. Sure, some people are going to give you funny looks, but there are way more people out there that are going to look at you both and say awwwwwwww.
Really, when you look back in 10-15years, are you really going to wish that you held your baby less??
    No. I didn't think so.
I am actually typing this entire blog post whilst wearing my baby #3, Pumpkin, in our trusty Gray, Boba wrap... and she just fell asleep.
Ahhh. Nothing sweeter than a baby's breath on your chest as they nap on you.
(Though I could do without those tiny talon-like fingernails scratching up my chest ;))

Are you looking for a beautifully hand made toy for the special little one in your life??
Browsing on Etsy one day, I came across the most adorable wooden teething necklaces.

Introducing: HALUSHKA

What I loooove about these wooden teething necklaces is that you never have to worry about your babe chewing or sucking on them, that is exactly what they are designed for. They are made of "only hardwoods that are known to be safe, Maple and Cherry," and the designer, "avoids Walnut and other nut trees that could possibly be allergenic".
You never have to worry about BPA, lead paints, or other mysterious liquids.
Any paint used is 100% APA approved and non toxic.
Eyes and other features are burned on.
What you see is what you get.
Just a 100% quality item through and through.

Each piece is skillfully cut out, and sanded smooth by Meghan herself in her very own garage "studio".
Her pieces are works of art, and made to last a few life times, if not longer.
I can totally imagine packing our Pumpkin's birdie necklace up when she is done with it, and putting it away for her own kids one day. The quality is second to none, and I would way rather support and purchase quality items that are built with love by real, live artists. I would trade 50 of my kids' plastic toys for just a few hand made beautifully created wooden toys any day. I love that even the silk that the bird is tied on is soft and expertly chosen.

Meghan's pieces are amazing and so thoughtfully created.
I love them all.

Which is your favorite?

Our birdie necklace is the perfect piece to wear while nursing or even when carrying my baby girl in the carrier or wrap on my front. No more little pinches all over my neck, arms and skin.
Baby can play with the necklace and we can both nurse in peace.
Yessssss, please.
Thank you Halushka for saving my skin ;) haha.
Maybe I should get another for back up just in case.

Please, make sure to check out Halushka on Etsy.
They are closed until Valentine's Day, so you have a few days to check out their past sales and pick out a few of your favorites.

Happy MONDAY.

Love and sunshine,
Mel

P.S. Pumpkin is FOUR months old today... how did THAT happen?!?!

Ellevill - Wraps of Norway

Beneidcte S. Andreassen - Founder, designer & owner.

Ellevill is an amazing woven wrap company from Norway, created by Benedicte S. Andreassen in 2008.  Their original collection included 100% mercerized cotton models in 6 colors and now, in 2013,  has expanded to
merino wool, organic cotton, silk, linen and bamboo wraps in many different patterns.  Not bad for being a fairly "new" company!!!

Ellevill wraps  are produced in India using high quality materials and produced using only fair trade and environmentally friendly methods.

(taken directly from website here)

The first Ellevill woven wraps that ever caught my eye were their breath-taking paisley wraps.

Something about the look of a baby wrapped up in all of that soft paisley just called to me.
I began researching woven wraps, following swap sites, and talking to other baby-wearing mamas, and those beautiful paisleys and jades just kept popping up.
From then on I became Ellevill curious and just had to try one for myself.

Seriously, how luscious does the Paisley Grasshopper look??:

When Benedicte at Ellevill told me she would send me a wrap to review, I had absolutely NO idea which one would be on its way to me. I could barely believe my luck, that I was actually going to get a chance to try one. I was so excited I could barely stand myself, and when the package arrived it looked so pretty, I had to remind myself to take a photo first BEFORE ripping into it.

THANK YOU, BENEDICTE!!!

Ellevill wraps would make the perfect gift as they are already gift wrapped!!

THIS was the beauty inside of that pretty package:
A bright, delightfuly BLUE Jade Deli LE.
The description on the website says that it is a turquoise and gray, however I think it looks a bit more like a shimmery bright blue and brown?
Whatever the combination truly is though, it works!

Right out of the bag, my Jade was SOFT. Broken in soft.
I cannot wait to feel it in a few months if this is how it feels now.
Seriously, I have yet to find another wrap so "broken in" without being broken in yet.
The biggest battle with a new wrap usually is the breaking-in process, and with an Ellevill, you do not even have to worry about that.
I know some people enjoy that process, but really, I don't feel like I have enough time for that. I want something soft out of the box, but supportive enough for both of my girls, and the 1.5yr old I babysit.

The timing for this wrap could not have been more perfect as my two year old had woken up feeling yucky and was looking for some immediate uppies. Believe it or not, I had yet to front wrap my Cupcake since becoming pregnant with #3 and this was going to be our first time in a loooong time.
I was AMAZED at how weightless she was, and no joke, she snuggled down right away and it was not long before she was fast asleep.
Um... what!??!
If that is not a sign of a good wrap I am not sure what is.
SUPER FLUFF to the rescue.

Like I said, she felt weightless.
I have bad rugby shoulders, too and felt absolutely no pressure points with her weight, even though I wore her allllllll day.

I absolutely love the tapers on an Ellevill wrap. They are looooooong. Long and thin enough to leave a tiny knot. This wrap actually feels longer than any other 6 in my stash. Yet thin enough to not feel bulky, or like I am drowning in tons of excess fabric.

Lately, pretty much all I have been grabbing for is my Jade.
The cotton almost has a silky, smooth feel to it, without being slippery, and it just feels so nice against my little babe's skin.

I love that the even the pattern has history. The jade pattern is inspired by old Norwegian knitting recipes and clothes/rugs from South America.

Doesn't the blue look beautiful against the wintery ocean!?

Ellevill's new collection is absolutely stunning.
http://www.ellevill.com/en/categories/woven-wraps-news

I am especially curious about the: Air Merino William

This one size wrap ( 70 x 500 cm) apparentlyis 50% wool, supportive, breathable, and soft against baby's skin but apparently capable of being stretttttttttched, and will always pop back and resume its original size and shape. It even comes with a handy storage bag.
Hmmmm. Crazy!? If you have tried this wrap, PLEASE let me know your thoughts!!

Are you Ellevill curious now?
I wish there was a place where I could just have all the fluff in the world in one place so babywearers from all over could just come and see everything and find the perfect fit for them.
Would that not be amazing?
Ahhhhh!!!
I cannot wait to let my friends try this wrap and feel it for themselves.

If you have not noticed already, I am pretty passionate about babywearing and love getting people excited about it, too.

Find a store near you: here.

 Love, peace and babywearing,
Mel

Two Turtle Doves Shop

Two Turtle Doves Shop is an amazing online jewelry shop (based out of Hawaii) I stumbled upon one night whilst perusing Etsy.com.
Man I love Etsy.

Shanna, the creativity and muscle behind the shop is one of the busiest people out there!!
Seriously.
Not only is she a busy mama of 3, but she is also a busy grad student, a busy engineer and a busy wife.
How on earth can she do it all?!?!
I don't know but she sure makes being busy stylish.

Two Turtle Doves Shop has even had the honor of being chosen to create jewelry for the Disabled Veterans of America Women's Auxiliary, a cause near and dear to Shanna's heart (her husband was in the air force for 10years). Her deployment and military charms are heartbreakingly beautiful.

The very first piece of Shanna's that caught my eye was the ever so beautiful, personalized and hand stamped "Everyone has a story to tell" necklace.

I just loved the mixed mediums used. The different metals. The bead. The contrasting shapes and charms.
This necklace reminds me of my mom's charm bracelet... only 100x more hip.
Like the name of the necklace, each charm has a story to tell.

 (1) 24mm x 4mm solid brass bar. It can be stamped on all four sides, with up to 10 letters per side!
(1) brass rectangle
(1) brass disc
(1) silver tree of life charm
(1) beautiful czech glass bead, just let me know what color you would like!

This necklace comes with a 20" sterling silver plated ball chain.

I had never owned a personalized necklace before.
At first I was overwhelmed with the choices available.
I did not know what charms to use, what color bead... what would look good together.
I knew I loved the tree from another of her necklaces, but liked the charms from this necklace.
Ahhhhhhh.
Fortunately Shanna, stepped in and helped me out, guaranteeing that she would never make a product that she would not wear herself.
Phew.

I picked my necklace up on Valentine's Day.
Happy love day to ME!! What an awesome present.
When I opened that sweet little muslin bag, I could barely believe my eyes.
Soooo beautiful.
I am so not a diamond girl, I would much rather wear a beautiful piece of jewelry that is unique and handcrafted, any day!

It was so awesome to see my life and loves right there on a chain that I could wear every day.
And really, it could not have arrived at a better time because two days after Valentine's Day my husband, 4 month old and I were off to my "bonus" sister's wedding for a week away in Mexico. First time away from our big kids and I loved that I now had a way to carry them with me.
I have had tons of compliments on my new necklace, and am happy to tell everyone all about it.

It really is a little conversation starter on a chain, you know??
I even love the way the charms sound when they all clink together.

Thank you so much Shanna, you really have a talent!
You probably are going to get a few orders from my family members now, too haha, my mom especially wants one. We have such a big family though how is she going to fit everyone on!??!

Two Turtle Doves Shop is guaranteed to create a memorable piece every time.
Which would you choose?
Browse through the sold pieces to get some ideas for yourself.
What charms? Whose names?
Let Shanna create something special for you.

Find her at her Etsy.com shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/twoturtledovesshop

Thanks again Two Turtle Doves!!

Sweet Daisy Designs.

I.love.chevron.
There I said it.
If you are like me, then this Etsy shop will be riiiiight up your alley.
A Chevron lover's dream.

I am absolutely loooooving all of the beautiful bags and prints that this amazing Etsy shop has to offer.
I could not possibly pick a favorite.
Blue & whites, Gray & whites, reds, yellows, oranges, browns and creams, oh my!!

If you LOVE the bag but not the attached flower, have no fear!
Simply request a different coloured flower, or remove entirely!

Since all flowers are interchangeable, and with the ability to purchase flowers completely separately, buy a few to change the look of your bag as often as you want!
Cool, hey??

Bags are lined in a contrasting duck cloth (usually matching the flower pinned to the outside), and have two inner pockets which are great for keys, cell phone, bank cards, etc.

Sweet Daisy Bags come in two different sizes:

 Small: 11" at the opening
13" at the widest point
13" from top to bottom

Large: 13" at the opening
17" at the widest point
17" from top to bottom
and with two different strap lengths/styles:

One Cross Body Strap:  The strap measures approximately 29"-49" (adjustable)
Two "handles": The strap measures approximately 21"

My package from Sweet Daisy Designs arrived while I was away for my "bonus" sister's wedding.
It was killing me knowing that it was probably just sitting around patiently (and neglected) at the post office for me just waiting for me to come down and pick it up.

As soon as we were back, my dad actually made the trip down for me to pick up my parcels.
(thanks Dad!!)
Sure enough, there it was.
My heart skipped a chevron-loving beat when I saw it through the paper.

P.s. how cute is her little handwritten note?
Ta-daaaaa!!
It looked JUST like its pictures!!
I was sooooo happy.

Love the little pink flower, and the matching lining peaking out.

I received the small bag, and was surprised at how roomy it actually was.
I can easily fit my ipad, diapers, wipes, wallet, phone, babylegs etc. and still have room.
I probably won't load it to the brim every day though, this type of bag can hide a lot, but still looks better when it is kind of baggy, and not bulging at the seems.
I have been using my beauty for quick trips out, not all day adventures toting around everything but the kitchen sink.

What I also like about these bags is they totally can be dressed up AND down.
Who are we kidding about me getting dressed up though, really!?
Fortunately, this little bag will help make me FEEL stylish even when I look like a scrubby gremlin in my jeans and a baseball hat.
Right?

All of you fancier mamas will have to let me know how your Sweet Daisy Designs bags look when you go out out; and not, like, to preschool out. I'm talking dresses and high heels out.
haha.

Sweet Daisy Designs, you better send me some business cards, as I think I will have a lot of compliments when out and about with this baby!

I almost forgot...

Not only does Stacey create her stylish hand made bags, but she also offers fun "Digital Prints" available for download.
Awesome idea if you ask me. I always see prints that I love online, but am scared to purchase because I do not want to have them sent in the mail only to have them arrived rolled, bunched, scrunched and crumpled.

Let me introduce the mama behind the shop:

Stacey - Owner, Maker & Designer
Stacey, a military mama of twins, first began Sweet Daisy Designs years ago when she was on maternity leave with her babies.
Her online shop supports her beautiful family directly, and allows them to chase after their dreams.
With the support of her husband, and family, she is able to keep doing what she loves, while touring the countryside as a military family.
Currently on the West Coast, she is busy creating and coming up with new and beautiful items for her Etsy shops.

I love supporting Etsy shops, and other hard working artisans.
You get to see the family behind the creator, the reason they create, the face behind the product.
You know that your hard earned money is going right from your family to theirs.
That means something!
Believe me, work at home moms & dads do not have it easy! Working from home is ideal, yes, but it often is hard to fit in EVERYTHING and still have time to create at the end of the day.

Be sure to check out Sweet Daisy Designs and "like" them on Facebook:
as I think they often have sales, contests and sneak peaks for their fans.

Cannot wait to see what other fun patterns & prints this shop comes out with in the future.

Thanks SO much Stacey at Sweet Daisy Designs for introducing me to your awesome bags and letting me try one out.
You rock!

- Mel-

Marina, at Love Struck Metals designed a special piece just for me and I could not be happier with the way it turned out.

Want to get one just like mine?

It is just so sweet and delicate, and goes with everything.
My Three Little Birds.
I absolutely love, love my the way my children each get their own 1/2" sterling silver charm with their name stamped clearly on it and their own birth stone gem, but each is fastened to the same loop and hang together. I know it probably not meant to carrying any deeper meaning, but I can't help but think that is JUST like siblings.
They are each their own little unique person, but are part of something bigger - our family.
Mushy, mushy, mushy...
Marina, herself, is a romantic at heart.
She came to America on holiday 17 years ago, met a man, fell in love, and was married less than four months later.
Goosebumps!!!
When you know, you just know!

She began designing jewelry a year later but only really got into it a few years ago.
Aside from Love Struck Metals, Marina also designs and creates unique and stylish pieces at her other Etsy shop: Meridian Studio
http://www.etsy.com/listing/79518230/drios-petales-sterling-silver-petal?

Her creations begin as sketches in her notebook, which she has be doodling in since she was a young girl.
She absolutely LOVES to create hand stamped pieces for people.
That little glimpse into someone's life, to see what is important to them, who they are making the piece for, the meaning behind the words.

Her pieces use recycled and/or fair trade sourced silver and gemstones when possible and Marina has even taught herself metalsmith.
What a cool lady, hey!??
I loooove this "Double Up in Gold" necklace.

One 16" and 18" gold filled cable chains, each with a 1/2" gold filled disc handstamped with the WORDS, NAMES, DATE or INITIALS of your choice.
What would you get printed?
Perfect necklace to profess your looooove for your sweetheart.
Or your dog... haha or your kids... or hey, yourself!!
Personalize it however YOU like!

Marina, is an absolutely amazing woman to work with, and you will not be disappointed with her customer service in the slightest.
Talking with her, creating my order, it actually felt as if I was chatting with an old friend.
Love that.

Thank you SO much Marina, for making my necklace become a reality.
I love, love, love it.

I look forward to seeing what else you come up with.
Keep following your heart!

- Mel -

OH, and a word of advice, something that I always forget...
"All metal jewelry should be cleaned frequently. Be sure to wipe your jewelry carefully with a soft cloth regularly to keep it clean and prevent oxidization. The best way to clean gold filled jewelry is with a soft polishing cloth"

I.LOVE. these socks.

They could not have arrived on a more perfect day either.
We went down to our mailbox in the U.S. on a beautiful sunshiney but COLD day. We had not really planned on going anywhere else, so I just wore a skirt with leggings... bad move. The wind was BRISK.
We got to the mailbox, and I was overjoyed to find that these beauties had arrived.

Thick, soft, cozy and loooooooooong, I put them on RIGHT away.
I could not believe how long they were in real life. I mean, in the stock photo they looked amazingly long, but I didn't realize exactly HOW long they really would be.
I guess reading the actual description would have been a big hint as to the size, but I was too enthralled with the pictures.
SIZING: ONE SIZE FITS ALL. fits women's shoe size 6-11. They Measure ~26in from heel to top of cuff (not folded over). Top cuff can stretch to accommodate up to 24in circumference!
Sometimes I find long socks are too tight for me, I don't have the skinniest of legs, so often I am disappointed with the size.
Not this time.
I could pull these babies up and over my knee and and right up my leg (even right over my leggings)!
SCORE!!
So.
So.
So.
Cozy.

AND CUTE!!

For all of you skinny legged people, there is a handy, and adorable tie under the cuff so you can make sure that they stay up.
Whether pulled up over the knee, or slouched under the knee, they look gorgeous.

I instantly began raving about them like a love-struck lunatic.
I posted a photo on my instagram (iheartcupcake).
I posted a photo on my personal facebook.

I giggled with delight when my friends, too, started liking them!
(I told you I'm nerdy).

We decided to go to the beach, and boy was I glad that I had these socks to keep me warm.
Gorgeous day? Yes.

Absolutely freezing? Heck yes.
Brrrrr.

There is something about a beautiful, brisk day at the beach that just wakes you up inside.

I love living on the West Coast!!

Which colour would you choose?

I think I need some in grey as well...oh and maybe in black, too.
What I love about the tweed is that they have little flecks of colour in amongst the yarn, so pretty.
I know that these socks are going to get a LOT of use.

Grace & Lace, also has the cutest thinner boot socks, too!

For you...

And your little one.

Even your fave boots can get a bit dreary and old by the end of winter, why not add something pretty to lighten up your step?

I love the delicate lace edge.

Or if lace really isn't your thing:

Buttons!

Cute, right???

Who would have thought a little shop in Texas could do stylish cozy so well!??!
I mean, I could see these socks coming out of chilly CANADA ;)
hahaha
I guess everything is a little bigger and better in Texas.

Melissa created her first pair of boot socks, listed them, and was overwhelmed with the amount of orders she had for MORE, MORE, MORE of the same!!
She and her friends could not leave the house without someone stopping and asking where they could get themselves a pair.
They have now sold over 7000 of these lacey frilly boot socks and legwarmers.
And have grown so rapidly - that they "have now evolved into an official company with trademarked designs, and friends and family as "staff". Jan 1, 2012 marked the beginning of our official name change to "Grace & Lace". Feb. 1, 2012 is our official expansion of our "Lil Lacies" - boot socks and legwarmers for little girls."

GO MELISSA GO!!!!!

I actually first saw them on Pinterest, and knew that I had to have a pair.
Thanks Melissa for making that dream a reality!

Which pair will you choose???

Or something different?

Make sure to add Grace & Lace on Facebook to keep up to date with news and specials:

Or check them out directly on Etsy:

Thanks again Melissa!!!
Perhaps you should send me business cards so I can hand them out when I wear my socks!

Goldfish Inspirations

The first necklace in Rachael's Etsy shop to catch my eye was her Beatle's inspired necklace:

As a music addict, myself, it was love at first sight.
Rachael and I began geeking out on other song lyrics and decided on a custom that would be perfect for me.
I grew up on Led Zeppelin.
I remember falling asleep as a little girl to the sounds of Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, The Beatles etc...
Music was a huge part of my life growing up.
I have loved "Goin' to California" for as long as I can remember, especially the lyrics,

"Love in her eyes, flowers in her hair".

The day I went into labor with my middle child, the song had come on the radio as I woke up and I just knew that she would be born that day.
I have just wanted to live that way, always.

Love in my eyes.
Flowers in my hair.

How beautiful and romantic.
Yah, yah, I know... life is not always beautiful OR romantic, and a heck of a lot of the time I will have TIRED eyes, and baby barf in my hair...but whatever!! Wearing this necklace can transport me to green grass fields, flowers, sunshine, love and music. Ahhhh. Can you see it!?

I was soooo excited when Rachael said that she could make it happen.

Isn't it gorgeous?!?

I gave one of these beauties to the ORIGINAL Canadian Natural Mama: Tara

Which song lyrics are special to you??
Can you think of any off the top of your head that you would use??
One of the awesome things about Goldfish Inspirations is that Rachael LOVES to do customs.
Get a unique piece made for that special person in your life, or maybe just something that is ultra special to you and you alone!

Song lyrics not your thing?

Fortunately Goldfish Inspirations has a ton of gorgeous pieces to choose from, for example:

How many people say that exact phrase every.single.day to the ones they love?
This way your special someone can wear the phrase around their neck every day and be reminded of your special love.

Check out the ultra-cute "momma bird" jewelry:

Customize the beads to suit YOUR little ones' birth stones.
What an awesome gift for the special mamas in your life.
We would have three little eggs in that nest.
When did that happen!?

OR

Choose from an awesome selection of little Fortune Cookies.
Aren't they SUPER sweet?!

What would your fortune be?

Choose one of Goldfish Inspiration's favorite fortunes or create your very own!
**fortunes can be up to 3 lines, with 8 characters per line**

Don't you just LOVE the "Marry Me" one?!?!
How amazing of a story would THAT make!?

Rachael's talents do not end in jewelry creation... oh no!
She also creates adorable, and unique gifts.

Do your kids love sushi as much as mine do??
My son, no joke, eats as many sushi rolls as I do... and he is not even five. I fear for his teenage years.

Perfect addition to any play kitchen to help stimulate your child's growing imagination.
Finally wasabi that you do not have to yell each time your child looks at it,
 "THAT'S NOT AVOCADO!!!"
Play food is always a huge hit in this house, you just cannot go wrong with it ever.

Don't see any play food you like?
Email Rachael and see if she can create something special just for YOU.

Along the same lines, check out this amazing baby shower gift:
 Ummmm... how cute is that!?
Everyone deep down inside loves wash cloths, but really, how boring is it to just give them as a gift. This way you can give a gift that a new mom will actually USE, and not be seen as the boring old person that gifts WASHCLOTHS. ;)
Instead you will be the hit of the party! Wooo hoooo!

Rachael attributes her talent to "being blessed with a father that taught her to see the world in a way unseen by most, and in so giving her the passion to show others".

Rachael, you definitely have an artistic eye and have come up with a unique creating style of your very own.
I cannot wait to see what else you dream up.
You have found a way to follow your own dreams, and support your family at the same time.
Love that.

Thank you SO much for everything.
Keep on shining!!

Orange and Coco

Have I said before how much I love Etsy???

There are just SO many amazing little shops out there just waiting for you to stumble upon them.
Orange & Coco, for instance is one of those shops.
Orange & Coco is based out of Alma, near Montreal, Quebec right here in Canada.

Émilie, the owner and creator, has been drawn to decoration, fashion, jewellery, beads and hand made objects for as long as she can remember. With a family of her own now, she decided to take her talents to new levels and open up a fun shop where she can showcase her adorable designs for children.

Orange and Coco specializes in nursery decor, amazing beaded pacifier holders, teething toys and more.
Looking for something personalized, super-cute AND one of a kind? This is the shop.

My little pumpkin is a "soo-soo" girl. She loves her pacifier. And though some are against babies having pacifiers, (I was before I had kids, hey to each their own)... I love this thing, especially nursing two babies, it sure does come in handy. The only thing that is frustrating with pacifiers, is that they are SMALL, and easily lost/thrown/misplaced etc. Most pacifiers are easy to replace, however, of course, the one she prefers is her Natursutten natural pacifier... one that I definitely do NOT want to lose. Those things can be pricey!!

Emilie designed an extra special pacifier clip especially for my little baby girl.
Pumpkin loves to play with it, and I love that I no longer have to worry about her pacifier falling one day while we are out, and me frantically searching everywhere for it.

Isn't it cute?!?
Not long enough to be a choking hazard (though it is still not recommended to use in a crib/playpen/cradle), but just the right length for it to hang without being pressed up against her face when not in use.

I love the bright SPRING coloured beads, which are all non toxic, lead free and even saliva proof.
Which is awesome...
Because, well, we all know that EVERYTHING with babies goes right into their mouth.
I love our Orange and Coco pacifier clip. It is just soooo much more beautiful than those plain fabric clips with the velcro that I had when my song was younger and I feel better knowing exactly what it is made out of. The quality is beautiful, and you can tell that this clip is made to last.

The beads themselves are smooth, and light-weight, easy for baby to pick up to play with, or reach for to retrieve their dropped pacifier on their own.
Pumpkin's latest thing is to whip the pacifier out of her mouth by the beads and then chew on the edges of the pacifier itself. Silly baby.

If your baby is not into pacifiers, you could easily loop a toy through the string and attach to baby's clothes, baby carrier or whatever else.

Pacifiers as well can easily be interchanged.

Please excuse the blurry photo.
When baby is excited nowadays, her hands and feet wave ferociously in the air like she is trying to fly away.

Now for the Pacifier Clip specifics:
Wood clip: 40 mm diameter * 1 inches 1/4
Pacifier clip without clip: 22 cm * 8 inches 1/4

Close up of how the clip fastens on:

Nice and secure, and all of the metal on the outside is covered with a big wooden piece to protect your baby.

Wouldn't these make the cutest baby gifts!?

Orange and Coco also offers awesome gift sets.
An awesome personalized pacifier clip AND a teether.
Super cute.

Do not see a design you like??
Feel free to contact Emilie and ask her about a custom order.

Thank you SO much to Orange and Coco for providing us with our very own beaded pacifier clip.
We love it!

Saul Good.

That's right.

Saul Good.

This is not your regular grocery store fruit basket delivery.

  Seriously.

It is so far from it it's not even funny.
Have you ever been the recipient of a gift basket?
Have you ever GIVEN a gift basket?

What's SO cool about Saul Good, is that not only are the products gourmet, but they are all LOCAL to Vancouver and the surrounding BC area. Yep, that's right. LOCAL. So not only are you giving an awesome gift that isn't just going to sit on a shelf, but you are supporting a ton of different local companies all at once.
Saul Good also partners up with organizations that are working towards improving people's lives.
Love that!

It is all about community.

" For products that are made here but sourced from other places, our coffee gift baskets being a prime example, we make sure that the entire chain of supply is fair trade. You can be sure that everyone who was involved in our gift baskets are being treated fairly and that we are continually working to make our company, as well as our gift boxes, as environmentally sound as possible."

Why do more companies not have those standards?

There are more than a few "baskets" to choose from:

Which one sounds like something you would be interested in?
Each heading also has a selection of options within, so you are guaranteed to find something in your price range to suit your needs.

I, myself, received a sample box, and it was too beautiful for me to even really SAMPLE at first.
It took me an entire week to even really open anything.
Does that sound lame?
You have to see the quality of these boxes.

The box itself is made of 100% recycled materials and wrapped in plain, brown paper and is not only solid, but ultra-cool, AND re-usable as well.

LOOK, it's VANCOUVER!
How cool is that!?

Ta-da!
Inside.

Like, I said.
I could not even eat anything at first.
The presentation of this gift box was just so amazing.

However, I caved, and the very first thing I tried was the Wendy Boys Vanilla Salt Caramels.
mmmmmm.
Who can resist chocolate anyways!?
Vanilla, Salted Caramel, Peanut butter and milk chocolate.
Delicious.
And packaged sweetly in the cutest little cardboard box stamped with Saul Good Gift Co.
(as you can see pictured in the bottom right)

Up next was the Pretzel Nut Mix covered in Caramel Sauce by Wendy Boys.
My family is full of big pretzel lovers.
These pretzels were unlike anything we had tried before.
Sweet, salty AND spicy.

Then...

Milk Chocolate Covered Caramelized Pistachios by Beta 5 Chocolate.
Cannot say that I have EVER seen chocolate covered pistachios before.
They were a HIT.

A pen was also included, made from 100% recycled plastic packaging, and printed with Saul Good's logo.
Thanks guys! I actually really needed a pen for my bag, and now that I have one, I can brag about your awesome company wherever I go.

Definitely a winning gift basket if I have ever seen one.
Seriously, NOTHING to be thrown out or forgotten.

If this was just a SAMPLING, I would be amazed to see the full-sized baskets.

Like this one...

Have someone visiting from out of town this year? Planning on showing them around town? Why not provide them with an awesome gift box to give them a real taste of Vancouver, too.

 Key to Vancouver.

"There are no platitudes lofty enough to describe the products that make up “The Key to Vancouver.” Alas, we must rely on cliché… this is the best of the best, not to mention the biggest. It is the cream skimmed off the top of our finest collection of savoury snacks and delicate confections. It is the spare-no-expense-OMG-wow-just-wow gift created to communicate to your colleagues and clients just how incredibly special and important they are to you and your business."

Cannot really say it any better than that.
Vancouver really is filled with an amazing array of beautiful little shops and eateries.
This gift box, is just a sampling of what our beautiful city has to offer.
Really, it would be impossible to fit EVERYTHING in, but Saul sure has given it his best effort and I am truly impressed.

 What about:

When I had an office job, I wish that we would have had snacks like THESE in our lunchroom.

The Corner Office Party Includes:

  • Pretzel Nut Mix with Caramel Sauce, 100g by Cocolico, Vancouver, BC
  • Hand-cut Heirloom Tomato Salsa by Vista D’oro Farms, South Langley, BC

Second denim CO. - YOGA JEANS

$

I may have found my new best friend... wardrobe wise... YOGA JEANS.
Yes, that's right.
Second denim Co. introduces:

This Canadian company based out of Montreal, Quebec deserves numerous high fives that's for sure.

Ultra comfy, like your favorite pair of yoga pants, but with the look and feel of your favorite pair of fancy jeans.
Can you hear the clouds parting and the angels singing??
Women everywhere have been dreaming of this day since, well,  forever.
And when I say women, I mostly mean mothers.
Moms, as well as gym rats, are known to have a wardrobe consisting mainly of yoga pants and t-shirts.
Whereas the gym rats may want to keep their uniforms, I think that the mothers of the world would gladly trade in their ratty old yoga pants for a pair of jeans like these!!

If you are a mother, and/or childcare provide like I am, you know that our job consists of a lot of ups, and downs, bending, squatting, lifting, sitting, standing, laying... and, well, pretty much every other movement you can think of.
These jeans can get you through ALL of that COMFORTABLY and still look hot.
Can your yoga pants do the same?
I know that at the end of the day I often look and feel utterly exhausted.
My braid or pony tail is falling out, my shirt is stained with milk, and my pants are saggy and baggy.

At least in jeans you feel a little more "with it", so you can look and feel like your "old" self, even when you are exhausted and not feeling entirely put together.

While these jeans do feel like a second skin, they differ from leggings or tights in that they are more substantial.
Like regular jeans, they hug your curves showing off your shape, while hiding everything that you want to keep covered up.

Though I do not think I, personally,  would do actual YOGA in these jeans... comfort wise, it definitely is possible.
I dare YOU to try it.
(Make sure to send in photos if you do.)
I would LOVE to see what you can do in YOUR yoga jeans.
Kid wrangling, hiking, globe trotting... what will you do?

Second denim Co. has a variety of different sizes (24-34) and styles of yoga jeans:

Low-rise: skinny
Mid-rise: skinny, straight, chino and bootcut
High-rise: ankle, skinny, slim linen, straight and bootcut
Sky: Slim
Pull on: skinny, straight and bootcut

All options are:
 98% Cotton 2% Elastane

(Plus sized Yoga Jeans can also be found online at Addition Elle here.)

There is even COLOURED DENIM now:
 Icy Blue / Lavender / Pebble/ Shamrock / Sunflower / Cardinal / Watermelon / Wildberry / Aquamarine / Blue Jay / Lemon Lime / Tangerine / Perriwinkle / Lilac / Peaches and Cream / White
 In:
81% Cotton 16% Polyester 3% Spandex

Pair with flats, flip flops, boots or... high heels and wedges, these jeans will go with anything and everything.
One size length, Second denim Co. jeans never seem too long.
The jeans can easily be cuffed, tucked into boots, or just left alone to rouche at the ankle.

There is just something about a great pair of jeans that makes you feel confident.
The best thing about jeans is that they can be dressed up or down depending on the accessories you add.
You know what they say...a great fitting pair of jeans and a white t-shirt will never go out of style.

The jeans pictured above, mid-skinny in dark rinse indigo, are the jeans that the lovely people at Second denim Co. sent me to try.
THANK-YOU!!!
I.
Love.
YOGA JEANS.

Pre-baby #3, I lived in my skinny jeans.
I never thought that I would be able to pull them off again.
Until now.
In my head I see myself happily wearing them whilst doing cartwheels into the sunset, while my children laugh and frolic through the green grass alongside me.

Whilst that picture sort of came true... it was more like me wearing my "cool, hip yoga jeans" jeans, while chasing my son as he rolled down a grass hill, as the toddler falls trying to catch him, as I am behind them all trying to run/walk as best as I can without waking the sleeping baby in the carrier.
Sigh.
Let's just go with the first scenario.

Also... do you know how hard it is trying to take a PHOTO of that second scenario?
I need a personal assistant.
Haha. This photo will have to do!

True story though, as I was writing this review I came across a post from a friend in a local babywearing community. She was looking for a straight legged jean that was like a cross between jegging, and a structured pant without being a skinny jean. She thought that her choices were either to go back to maternity jeans, or live in her exercise pants... forever.

A few other friends commented that, they too, were looking for the "perfect" postpartum jeans.
Many had just given up, and were thinking of resorting to maternity jeans again just for the stretch and comfort.
I told her (and the others) about Yoga Jeans and they were excited.
Most of them said they were willing to pay a little more for a quality, comfortable jean if it meant that they could actually get out of regular yoga pants every now and again and feel GOOD about themselves while wearing them.

They were apprehensive about buying jeans online.
As most of you know, the female body is a complex thing, and choosing jeans is one of those scary things that "you just do not do".
These jeans, however, do fit pretty true to size.
If you are in doubt, though, there are HEAPS of retailers that actually sell these beauties IN PERSON, (though it is not as fun as receiving something in the mail).
Try on a few different sizes and styles to find the perfect fit for YOU!

Though Second denim Co. does not necessarily SPECIALIZE in jeans for mothers, really, they are the perfect solution.
They are stylish, well made, built like a second skin, but best of all COMFORTABLE and actually have the ability to MOVE with you.
Definitely the opposite of any "mom-jeans" I have ever seen.
Fashionable, flattering jeans that don't pinch, bunch, stretch out OR  lose shape.
Win.
Win.
And... WIN!

To be honest, I don't know if I will ever be able to go back to "regular" jeans again.
I may just have to slowly switch over my entire jean wardrobe little by little to the fabulous Yoga Jeans.

Which Yoga Jeans would you choose?
Classic skinnies?
Bootcuts?
Colored denim for Spring?

Comment on the blog post below with your favorite item from the Yoga Jeans collection for a chance to win a pair of your very own!

 HOORAY!!!

Happy Baby Cheeks Cloth Diapering Service

$
0
0

You may remember this company as Happy Nappy.
However, they have gone through a few changes lately and are now known as Happy Baby Cheeks.
Same great company, new great name.

What is everyone's least favorite part about cloth diapering?
The washing, right??
It can be intimidating, especially for first time users.
When you cloth diaper, what is the first question that non-cloth diapering people ask?
"BUT WHAT ABOUT THE POOP!?"
Haha. Not only that buy:
What soap to buy? How do you dry them? Do you rinse the diapers first?

Well, this awesome company removes all of  those issues for you.
All you have to worry about is diapering your baby.
It is pretty much fool-proof.

You receive your diapers in a drawstring wet bag.
Take your clean diapers out.

You then either place the wetbag in a pail that you have purchased, hang it on a closet door handle, or simply leave it on the floor beside the change table.
Whatever works.
(We just put the wetbag & pail in the girls room beside a laundry basket full of diapers)

Then just diaper your baby as you would with a disposable diaper.

Make sure to secure a cover over this diaper, either with a cover of your own, or one that you have rented from Happy Baby Cheeks.
(You can purchase Mother Ease covers, here and they will be delivered with your next diaper delivery.)
When it is time for a diaper change, you just remove the soiled diaper and place it in the wetbag.
No need to rinse, soak, or pre-wash the diaper.
You can even use the cover again, provided it is mess free!
(covers are not placed in the pail, but will be used for the remainder of your diapering service until you need a bigger size).

Mother Ease Covers

It seriously is that easy.

Happy Baby Cheeks now even offers awesome cloth wipes, too just inquire when you are setting up your service! One less thing to worry about, and they go right into the diaper pail alongside your dirty diapers.
Store some in a smaller wet bag in your diaper bag or purse for diapering on the go.

Your new diapers will be delivered to your door step each week in a clean, drawstring wet bag and they take the dirty ones with them to be cleaned.

Happy Baby Cheeks Delivery Lady extraordinaire!

If you do run out of diapers before your week is up, (though most people do not) you can pick more up at the warehouse and "up" your delivery count for next time if you find you are using more.
Diapers going in and out will be counted, and are kept track of, so as long as you are returning what you use, you are good to go.
If you do not USE all of your clean diapers before your week is up, you do not have to send them in just because it is delivery day. Send the dirty diapers you have used out,  you will be sent an email later that day with the amount that you remaining and instructions for the next week.

Sooo how does Happy Baby Cheeks deal with WASHING: Copy and pasted from the website:

There are five key factors involved in the cleaning of our diapers.
The first is the process where we separate the diapers from the “poop”. This process follows with the diapers having several flushes that eliminate any soil away from the diapers. Immediately following this step the phosphate free, CFIA approved detergents are injected into the extremely hot water wash. Any service that does not use extremely hot water for this step jeopardizes the chances of bacteria remaining in the diapers.

During the main washing cycle there are four key elements that come into play. The detergents (which remove the soils and keep them from re-depositing onto the diapers), timing (allowing enough time for the detergents to do their job), temperature (assuring the water is hot enough to assure all bacteria is removed from the diapers) and the mechanical action (which assists with removing the soil from the microfiber fleece). There are multiple rinse steps and high speed extracts to assure all detergents are eliminated from the diapers.  All detergents used are environmentally friendly and safe for your baby’s skin. We PH balance test the diapers at the end of the cycles to assure the PH balance matches that of your baby. This process also assures there is no detergent residue left on our diapers. All of our diapers are washed in commercial grade laundering equipment and have computerized microprocessors to allow for consistency in our washing cycles. There is no Chlorine bleach in our washing process at any time.

When the diapers are dried each diaper is inspected to assure the washing process has 100% passed our strict protocol. Utilizing a diaper service instead of washing your diapers at home utilizes four times less water and power.

With this service, your diapers get washed in an industrial washing machines, so not only are you saving time, conserving energy and using less water but you are helping do your part to keep disposable diapers OUT of landfills and off of your baby's sensitive little bum.

Another awesome thing about Happy Baby Cheeks is that you actually end up SAVING money, too.
You no longer have to spend time searching for coupons for disposables at big box stores or scouring online for the best deal on cloth diapers.
Even though you do pay weekly for your service, depending on your needs and how many children you have in diapers, you never have to worry about running out to the store in the middle of the night because you have run out. OR that your baby has grown out of the current size and you now have to sell off your entire cloth diaper stash to fund the next ones.

Sure you could get one-sized cloth diapers but they really are not as trim as a "perfect" sized diaper.
Bigger diapers mean buying bigger pants ;)
Though who can resist a cute little baby with a giant cloth diaper bum??
Happy Baby Cheeks diapers have the fit of a disposable without any of the harsh chemicals.
You can even use the newborn size if you like! Anyone that cloth diapers already knows that inner struggle, "Hmmm should I bother with newborn size or go right into small/size 1?!"
This system eliminates all of those issues.
Because you are able to cater your diapering service to your specific children's weight and size at that very moment, you are able to get a great fitting diaper at all times.

OK so now for the nitty gritty...but how do they work on MY baby!??

Positives:
1. No leaks. Not a one. Not even with the messiest of messy baby explosions.
2. LOVE the fact that the diapers are delivered RIGHT to my door step.
3. LOVE that I do not have to worry about washing them, with 3 kids and babysitting 1-3 almost two year olds, I sometimes forget I have things in the washing machine, and end up having to wash things a second or even a third time. That is not even including the time it takes to DRY everything. I know I sound like the world's laziest mom here but I know we've all been there, right???
4. They fit under clothes is PRETTY trim. I mean it still is a cloth diaper but, not as big and bulky as some of the ones in our stash.
5. The actual size and fit of the diapers - definitely go by weight. Different from, say, a Fuzzi Bunz where Baby #3 is still in a size small, in Happy Baby Cheeks she was totally a size medium. I mean, she can fit in the small, but it is quite low-rise on her, and the buttons are nearing their final snaps.
7. Husband can manage them with no instruction. *bonus*
8. Love that they are delivered in a clean wetbag every week, too!
9. Customer service is excellent. SO easy to just email in with questions and get an answer right away.
10. Easy to renew your service, or add/subtract to your exisiting order.

Negatives or Neutrals:
1. I found that I used the plain Mother Ease covers, but also missed the cuteness of some of my other diapers so also just interchanged some of my other covers. Which worked just as well, of course. :)
2. Wish that the diapers came in more colours, although I do ove the orange and yellow.

Ok. I just had aesthetic complaints, so that's not bad!!
